It’s holiday time in Pigeon Forge, and the city is filled with the sights and sounds of the season.  With more than five million lights decorating the city, your group will definitely get in the holiday spirit! Plan to catch a holiday show, shop for holiday surprises, be dazzled by the light displays, or just cozy up by the fireplace—Winterfest will leave you with warm memories!

December 2008:

Winterfest Lights in Pigeon Forge – Nov. 6, 2008 – Feb. 29, 2009
Named an ABA Top 100 Event, Winterfest features shimmering light displays of dancing bears and Mother Goose to American landmarks. You can take your group on a Trolley Tour of Lights to explore the displays with a guide who shares the history of Winterfest and Pigeon Forge.  Come see what everyone is talking about!

Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas – Nov. 8, 2008 – Jan. 3, 2009
Christmas traditions are made at Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas festival. Four million lights cast a warm glow of holiday splendor, sensational shows with lots of Christmas Joy and festive holiday food make this event a “must see!”  www.dollywood.com

Holiday Music, Holiday Fun!
During November and December, Pigeon Forge theaters will deck their halls and put you in the holiday spirit with performances by talented singers, dancers and musicians. January 2008 – February 2009:

Wilderness Wildlife Week – Jan. 10-17, 2009
Celebrating its 19th year, Wilderness Wildlife Week is a truly unique Smoky Mountain experience. With more than 175 hands-on workshops, dozens of hiking opportunities and special presentations, this Pigeon Forge event is perfect for nature lovers of all ages.

AppalachiaFest – Jan. 13, 2009
Part of Wilderness Wildlife Week, this popular event is an unforgettable evening of traditional Smoky Mountain Music.

Saddle Up! – Feb. 19-22, 2009
Boot-stompin’ good times await your groups as the Old West rides into town for four days of music, poetry and cowboy culture.

This entertainment-based facility includes museums, an Otter Cove, rides, attractions, restaurants, more than 90 unique retail shops and the finest lodging experience in the area plus entertainment and special events.  Two of the attractions opening soon at Belle Island Village are:

  • Darrell Waltrip’s Racing Experience is an attraction that will put you in the driver’s seat! It will entertain you with all aspects of the racing world from the excitement of driving around a course, changing tires in the pit, to being in the announcer’s booth calling a race.
  • Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum will be home to the world’s largest private collection of Hollywood memorabilia – preserved by Debbie Reynolds. The museum will feature 3,500 costumes, two state of the art theaters and 10 themed pavilions showing original clips of classic movies!

 

Coming to Pigeon Forge in 2010!

The Titanic!  Pigeon Forge will be the “home port” for this towering ship-shaped museum and attraction.  Opening in the spring of 2010, The Titanic Pigeon Forge will be home for hundreds of priceless Titanic artifacts and will feature a replica of the “Grand Staircase” and cabins. It’s Ships Ahoy in Pigeon Forge!
