THEMED TOUR
ADVENTURES IN LEARNING
MARCH/APRIL/MAY
4 Day / 3 Night
Pigeon Forge, with its fun and educational attractions, is a great destination for student groups.
Day 1
After checking in to your Pigeon Forge hotel or large group chalet, head straight to Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show. For after-dinner entertainment, check out the Parkway attractions—bumper boats, go-carts or miniature golf, indoor skydiving, or laser tag.
Day 2
After breakfast, spend the morning learning about nature at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Arrange for a nature program in the park with an official park ranger, and your group can hike on breathtaking trails with an experienced guide. Hiking builds hungry appetites, so enjoy a picnic lunch in the great outdoors.
The learning continues with a trip through the Dinosaur Walk Museum. This impressive stop is filled with 60 life-sized replicas of prehistoric dinosaurs, some towering more than two stories high. Or head over to WonderWorks. It's 45,000 sq ft of fun with over more than 100 interactive exhibits at this amusement park for the mind.
If you’re visiting mid-May through mid-September, check out Dollywood’s Splash Country. There’s not a better way to cool down on a warm summer afternoon.
For the evening’s entertainment, we suggest a musical journey through the Smoky Mountains at Black Bear Jamboree Dinner and Show*. Or enjoy a hearty meal at a Pigeon Forge restaurant followed by a show at Country Tonite Theatre* where you can learn how a musical production comes together during a backstage tour.
Day 3
Spend the day at Dollywood* entertainment park for a field trip that students will never forget! Every student visiting on a weekday, school-sponsored field trip receives a free meal, compliments of Dolly Parton.
For a dinner that’s filled with good food and conversation, head to the Hoot N' Holler Dinner & Show at WonderWorks. Or for something with an international flair, try the Little Tokyo Restaurant, where students can brush up on Japanese culture.
Day 4
Spend a day in nearby Gatlinburg where your group can choose from several educational programs at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies.
*School groups can perform at these attractions. Prior arrangements must be made.
